New Delhi. Former Australia captain and former India coach Greg Chappell has said a big thing before the ICC World Cup 2023 to be held in India. He has recently given a big statement about Indian team veteran and star batsman Virat Kohli.

Regarding the ICC World Cup 2023, Greg Chappell said that Virat Kohli will score big runs in this ICC tournament. He is all set to make an impact for the team during the tournament which starts on October 5 this year. He said that if Virat Kohli approaches the game with a free mind, he can perform brilliantly during this period.

Remembered the story of Sachin Tendulkar

During this, Greg Chappell also remembered the story of Sachin Tendulkar. He said that one day Sachin Tendulkar called me when I was India’s coach. He expressed his desire to meet me. When he came into my room the first question he asked was, “Why does batting become more difficult with time?” I remember telling him that with time you learn a lot and store a lot of information in your subconscious mind. He said that as a talented young player who is dominating international cricket, you just have to see the ball and hit it. Or don’t worry about the expectations, although things change with time.

With experience the player knows what kind of ball the bowler will bowl. How much the country expects victory from the player. All this information is in your head and can cause problems. Opponent players also have all the information, so they can also prepare easily. In such a situation the player has to be mentally prepared and do so with an open mind.

He said that if you are able to release yourself mentally, then you can bat the way you did at the beginning of your career and control the game. Virat was able to do the same in the last World T20 against Pakistan in Australia.
