Shoe thrown at Swami Prasad Maurya in SP’s program





A shoe has been thrown at Samajwadi Party’s MLC and Swami Prasad Maurya, famous for his controversial statements, in a program. A shoe was thrown at Swami Prasad Maurya in the Samajwadi Party’s OBC convention. The worker who threw the shoe was first beaten by the workers, then the police took him into custody and took him to the Vibhuti Khand police station. Swami Prasad Maurya has a long political career of about four decades and he is considered to be a formidable politician in UP politics. Swami Prasad Maurya contested from Dalmau assembly seat of Rae Bareilly in 1996 on BSP ticket and won the assembly elections. His career was such that he became a cabinet minister 4 times. He also became the Leader of the Opposition in the UP Legislative Assembly three times. In the year 2009, after defeating the mother of Union Minister RPN Singh in the by-election from Padrauna, he started being counted among the leaders close to Mayawati. In the year 2008, BSP gave the responsibility of the state president’s post to Swami Prasad Maurya. After the defeat in 2012, Mayawati took back the responsibility from him. In the year 2016, Swami Prasad Maurya rebelled against the Bahujan Samaj Party. After parting ways with BSP, Swami Prasad Maurya formed his own party, but with a big dream, he joined BJP. In the year 2017, Swami Prasad Maurya got the ministerial post by winning the assembly elections. Swami Prasad Maurya, who rode on the chariot of Kamal in the last assembly elections, has now joined Akhilesh.
