In the case of farmer’s death in Longowal, an agreement has been reached between the farmers’ organizations and the administration in the evening. This information was given by the farmer representatives during the dharna. Dilbagh Singh and Jaswinder Singh said that the Longowal incident has been agreed upon with several officials including IGM Chhina in Sangrur.
No action will be taken against any party by the farmer or the police. Lawsuits filed against farmers will be cancelled. The detained farmers will be released. The family of Pritam Singh, who lost his life, will be given a compensation of Rs 10 lakh and a government job. The government will compensate for the loss of farmers’ vehicles. The seriously injured will be given Rs 2 lakh. Farmer leaders said that 16 farmer organizations will continue their strike on other demands. The demand for relief to the flood victims and fair price for the crops is still pending.
