First conference of Uttarakhand Apple Growers Association organized
The first conference of Uttarakhand Apple Producers Association was organized under the chairmanship of Rajendra Singh in the auditorium of Agricultural Production Market Committee. Rakesh Singha, leader of Akhil Bhartiya Kisan Sabha and former MLA from Himachal, while inaugurating the conference said that the climate of hilly areas of Uttarakhand is favorable for apple production.
He said that farmers can increase their income by doing apple horticulture in a scientific way. For this, there is a need to adopt scientific method by planting plants prepared with clone technology. Said that the state and central government need to guarantee remunerative price of apples to encourage apple producing farmers. The central government will have to make the import duty of apples 100 percent, so that the gardeners can get its benefit.
He stressed that the central government should abolish GST on apple products. He called upon the apple growers to organize and fight for their problems. Said that the first All India Conference of apple growers will be held in Srinagar Kashmir on 15 and 16 July. In which 10 representatives from Uttarakhand will participate. Shiv Prasad Devli conducted the conference. During this, State Vice President of Uttarakhand Kisan Sabha Kamruddin, leader of Kisan Sabha Rajendra Purohit, Chakrata Mandal Secretary of Apple Producer Association Gopal Singh, Hukam Singh, Hari Singh, Vijay Pal Singh Rana shared their experiences.
