Counseling has not yet started for admission in about 745 colleges affiliated to AKTU i.e. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University. For admission, 43 thousand students are waiting for the release of counseling schedule after registration.
Till now, there is a matter of affiliation behind the non-commencement of counseling. The result of negligence in completing this process in due time is causing delay in the session. However, the university administration is claiming to start the counseling for the release of the schedule in the first week of September.
Actually JEE Mains ranking is made the basis for admission in B.Tech course in AKTU affiliated colleges. Only the candidates who give this exam can get admission in technical university by registering themselves. On the other hand, the candidates appearing in the CUET UG and PG exams in undergraduate, postgraduate courses are considered eligible for admission. Also registration in MBA
The delay in the admission process is being told as the reason for not getting affiliation. In this, AKTU had to complete the affiliation of colleges and new courses by 31 July 2023 as per the rules of AICTE i.e. All India Council for Technical Education. But AKTU could not complete the process of affiliation of colleges within the stipulated time period. The Supreme Court also banned it. Now AKTU is again going to file a petition in Supreme Court requesting for extension of affiliation. But the students have to bear the brunt of this delay. In case of non-affiliation, the college will not be able to participate in the counseling.
Vice Chancellor Prof. JP Pandey says that a petition is being filed in the Supreme Court regarding affiliation. They will release the counseling schedule in the first week of September.
Same, AKTU’s Admission Coordinator Prof. Arun Tiwari said that more than 43 thousand candidates have registered for B.Tech, UG and PG courses. While the registration process for BPharma has not started yet. 33 thousand 800 candidates registered for B.Tech. At the same time, 5730 candidates of CUET UG and 3409 candidates of PG are also included. Whereas in the last session 2022-23 only about 30 thousand candidates had registered for B.Tech course. This time three thousand more registrations have been done.
