Telangana: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman alleged that there was a revenue surplus at the time of its formation in 2014. The state has now become a revenue deficit state. And CM KCR is responsible for this. Sitharaman defeated BJP candidate N. from Malkajgiri in the assembly elections. Addressing a public meeting organized in the honor of Ramachandra Rao, he said that the next 2 to 3 generations of the state will continue to repay the debt. Sitharaman said that under the Congress government, our military personnel were deprived not only of bullet-proof jackets but also of other safety equipment.
KCR drowned the state in debt
Sitharaman said that Telangana is a state which is opposing bringing liquor, petrol and diesel under the ambit of GST. If these are brought under GST then the rates will become reasonable. He said that the state which was revenue surplus has now become a revenue deficit state. The credit for this goes to CM KCR. Today the state is drowned in debt. Our children will have to repay this debt in the next 2 to 3 generations.
Strong attack on Congress also
Taking aim at the Congress, Sitharaman said that under the Congress government, our military personnel were deprived not only of bullet-proof jackets but also of other safety equipment. And no purchases were made in those 10 years. Regarding the purchase of Rafale fighter planes, Sitharaman said that it was an agreement between the governments and all the planes have been supplied as per the schedule.
Decisions are taken in the national interest
Sitharaman said that decisions are taken in national interest. No bribe transaction took place. We did not bargain with any company.
