Kolkata, 21 November (HS). West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced the green hydrogen policy to promote biofuels at the ‘Bengal Global Business Summit’ (BGBS) held in Kolkata. Along with this, Mamata has announced to build a new ‘sub-sea cable landing station’ in Digha.
Chief Minister Mamata unveiled new policies to double the state’s exports, modernize equipment and promote renewable energy manufacturing. The Chief Minister said that the economy of Bengal is growing at the rate of 8.41 percent annually and it will reach US $ 212 billion in this financial year. There are 90 lakh MSME units in Bengal, in which 1.3 crore people are working. CM said that the state government is planning industrial corridors-Dankuni-Kalyani, Tajpur-Raghunathpur, Dankuni-Jhargram and Durgapur-Cooch Behar.
