When Karthik was in the third year of college, he got his first film break. Karthik started his acting career with the film Pyaar Ka Punchnama. It was only after signing this film that he informed his parents about getting his first film.
There is also an interesting story about how he got work in this film. Actually, in the initial days of his career, he had created his profile on Facebook. From here he came to know that there was a search for a new comer for a film. Without wasting this opportunity, he went to audition for this film. People liked Karthik’s audition very much and thus he became a part of the film Pyaar Ka Punchnama. Karthik had told that he got this break after struggling for two and a half years.
Karthik got Rs 1.25 lakh for his first film. Made with a budget of Rs 10 crore, this film collected Rs 17 crore at the box office.
Karthik spoke a 4-minute monologue in the film Pyaar Ka Punchnama. This dialogue of his became such a hit that Karthik became a star with this film. After 2 years of this film, she worked in the films Akashvani and Kanchi, but both could not do anything special on the big screen.
In 2015, Karthik’s film ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2’ was released. Kartik had a 7-minute monologue in this film. This time Karthik had broken his own record. Karthik was the first actor in India to speak a 7-minute dialogue. This dialogue of his was also a big hit and went viral on social media. Made with a budget of just Rs 22 crore, this film had earned more than Rs 88 crore. After this, the film ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ released in 2018 proved that Karthik is a master of comic lead role.

Karthik now charges around Rs 35 to 40 crores for a film. His net worth increased after the success of the film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Before the release of this film, Karthik used to charge around Rs 15 to 16 crores for a film.
Karthik’s first film had a good collection at the box office, yet he did not have his own car to go to red carpet events. In 2020, the film Love Aaj Kal 2 was released. Sara Ali Khan was also in the lead role with Karthik in this film. In those days, the news of their dating was in the headlines.
